- The Sudbury Indie Cinema will celebrate the remarkable legacy of founder and former executive director Beth Mairs with a special retirement celebration and fundraiser on Wednesday, June 10 at 6 p.m. The evening will feature a mystery film personally selected by Mairs — with the title remaining secret until showtime— alongside a silent auction, hors d’oeuvres by Verdicchio Ristorante, and a cash bar. The event aims to both honour Mairs’ extraordinary contributions to arts and culture in Northern Ontario and raise funds to support the future of the not-for-profit cinema co-operative.
