Located in greater downtown Sudbury, The Indie has ample free parking on site, a fully licensed facility, and friendly knowledgeable staff. We are both a community resource and a multi-disciplinary arts space. Since opening in 2019, The Indie has been utilized by numerous group for a wide variety of purposes. The theatre and lobby at Sudbury Indie Cinema are available to rent for private or public events.

Full connectivity from a podium at the front of the theatre, to our screen and speakers for presentation needs

Consider our cinema space for: private or public film screenings*; community events from official declarations, Annual General Meetings, townhalls, seminars, zoom conferences, film premieres, concerts, dances, video games on the big screen and more!
If you have an idea to make use of the Indie, we will try to make it a reality!
* Screening films outside of the Indie’s scheduled programming will most likely involve licensing fees on top of rental pricing.
The Specifics:
What we can play: DCPs, DVD/Blu Ray, streaming off a laptop, video games on consoles with HDMI connection & wireless controllers.
Our equipment: 2 wired microphones, a podium, couches and chairs that can be set up in front of the screen, a few assorted extension cables, and a large speaker.
What’s at concession: popcorn, pop, kombucha, tea, coffee, candy, and chocolate. We have cider, wine, and local craft beer available. Low sugar, vegan, and gluten-free options on hand (please inquire for details). We use compostable single use, and recyclables through-out to reduce our waste.
Rental rates vary based on event needs and start at $395 (plus HST) for a 2-hour theatre block rental. and includes a dry run/walk-through on-site with staff. For any rental request please complete the form HERE.
